Golfers really work up an appetite, especially when walking the course. Luckily, the restaurants at the American Club serve phenomenal cuisine that takes full advantage of farm fresh vegetables, cheese, beef and pork.

Dining well at the American Club is an integral part of the overall golf vacation experience. After rounds of golf on the Straits, Irish, Meadow Valley or River courses, we highly suggest you consider some of these outstanding selections:

Beer Cheese Soup (Horse & Plow-Dinner)- Wisconsin is known for two things, beer and cheese. Need we say more? Combining the best of both worlds, the Beer Cheese soup topped with fresh croutons and cheese is simple and savory and a must if you’re staying at the American Club.

Grilled Sheboygan Double Bratwurst (Black Wolf Run-Lunch)- Nobody in the U.S. does brats like Wisconsin. This succulent version is served on a Sheboygan hard roll with caramelized onions and bacon sauerkraut.  You’ll have to travel to Germany to find anything better than this amazing selection.

House Made Corn Beef Brisket (Whistling Straits-Lunch)- If you made too many bogeys on the Straits course this might ease the pain a bit. It’s served on rye bread and topped with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and smoked bacon mayonnaise.

Spicy Honey-Glazed Smoked Double Thick Pork Chop (Black Wolf Run-dinner)- This very popular dish literally melts in your mouth. The sauce on top of the pork chop is made with fresh and delicious Wisconsin blue cheese and is served with mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus. 

Cheese Curds (Horse & Plow-Dinner)- Cheese curds may not sound that great but they’re actually quite tasty. Made with fresh Wisconsin cheese these bundles of flavor are best served with a few pints of beer.

Farm to Table Menu (Wisconsin Room-Dinner)- The AmericanClub supports small local farms in Wisconsin by serving their fresh produce on a “Farm to Table” menu. This is a must at the Wisconsin Room because the menu is Seasonal and includes dishes made with fresh meats and vegetables. 

Pan-Seared Farm Raised Veal Medallions (Immigrant Restaurant-Dinner)- These fresh Veal Medallions are served with Celeriac Puree, Fried Oyster, Potato Ragu, Lemon and Caper Sauce. Remember, gentlemen are required to wear jackets in the Immigrant Restaurant.

Local Beers on Tap- When you think of Milwaukee and Wisconsin, you’ve got think of beer. The state has an awesome craft beer culture. Try these local favorites: New Glarus Spotted Cow, 3 Sheeps Rebel Kent the First, Capital Wisconsin Amber, Central Waters Shine On, O’so Hop Whoopin’, Ale Asylum Hopalicious and Furthermore Fatty Boombalatty.

Green House Sweets- It’s always nice to finish off a delicious meal with something sweet. The Green House is a charming stained glass cottage in the middle of the courtyard at the American Club. Here you’ll find hot Coffee, milkshakes, espresso and ice cream.
